Rabat - Director General of Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency signed Wednesday an agreement on the receipt of "Beit Al Maghrib", following several attempts that lasted six years and amounting to five million dollars.
The Agency started restoration of this edifice that lies near the Al Aqsa mosque, a statement of the agency said, adding that "Beit Al Maghrib" is meant to be a place for reinforcing values of dialog of civilisations and peace between nations.
M'daghri, who is on a visit to the Palestinian territories, also visited the main hospitals in the holy city to enquire about the progress of the Agency's projects.
In this respect, he visited a unit for dialysis and renal insufficiency at "Al Matlaa" hospital, where he launched the building of a kidney transplant unit.
In the "Al maqassid" hospital, M’daghri signed an agreement to finance a dental clinic and visited a brain tumours transplant unit, worth $1.25 million.
M'daghri also launched, in the "Sour Baher" field, the first phase of construction works of a sports' complex according to international norms.
DG of Bayt Mal ALQuds Acharif Agency was also received earlier by President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, to whom he transmitted greetings from H.M King Mohammed VI and congratulated the Palestinian President for his recent election as head of the Palestinian Fatah movement, the Agency said in a statement.
M’daghri informed Abbas on the Agency’s efforts in support of the inhabitants of the holy city, Al Quds, in conformity with the instructions of His Majesty, Chairman of Al Quds committee, the source added.
The talks also tackled the preparations for the upcoming international Al Quds forum, scheduled next October in Morocco.
